Rudy Jones will be entering his first season of indoor football with the Storm. Jones' senior campaign in 2006 was one of the best seasons in Northern State history. The linebacker came in second in the NSIC and 21st in the nation for tackles, averaging 9.5 per game with a total of 104 on the season. Jones also tallied 1.5 sacks and had 8.5 tackles for loss. Jones made First Team All-NSIC and the Daktronics All-Northwest Region Defense Second Team. Jones finished his senior season with the second most tackles in a season in Northern State history. Jones currently holds the NSU record for most tackles in a game when he recorded 15 vs. Minnesota State Moorhead during the 2006 season.

Jones sat out the 2005 season after having a stellar 2004 campaign as the teams leading rusher. Jones played in all 11 games and rushed for 990 yards and eight touchdowns. He also caught 26 passes and scored one touchdown receiving during the campaign. Jones played running back at Fresno City Community College and Sierra Community College before transferring to NSU. Jones was an All-State running back in California during high school.
