Janssen will be entering his first season with the Storm. Janssen was part of a Northwestern team that finished with an 11-2 record and reached the NAIA quarterfinals before losing to Missouri Valley, 33-26. They finished the season ranked sixth in the NAIA.
The former Red Raider was a three-time honorable mention All-American from 2003-2005. Janssen led his team with 77.5 tackles, 12 for a loss, and 4.5 sacks his senior season in 2006. He was named NAIA Defensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-American selection that year. He also led the league in blocked kicks with six, nabbed six interceptions and recovered three fumbles. Janssen scored three of the Raiders' eight defensive touchdowns that season. He was also named Conference Player of the Year.
