Burrell (pronounced bur-ell) will be entering his fourth season of indoor football and second season with the Storm.
Burrell was the teams second-leading receiver before he tore his ACL after 11 games. Burrell finished the season with 47 receptions for 607 yards. He finished the season tied for 4th in the UIF in receiving touchdowns with 13.
Burrell spent the 2005 and 2006 seasons with the Omaha Beef. In limited duty with the Beef, he compiled 21 receptions for 253 yards and 3 touchdowns during those two seasons.
Burrell began his college career at Nebraska-Kearney where as a true freshman set school freshman records with 36 receptions for 584 yards and six touchdowns. After two seasons with the Lopers, he transferred to North Dakota State in 2003. The 2003 season was Burrell's most impressive in which he posted 56 receptions for 570 yards and a total of seven touchdowns. Burrell holds the 100 and 200 meter records at Nebraska-Kearney and is also a six-time North Central Conference (NCC) outdoor track and field champion.
