Jason Bonwell will be entering his first year of indoor football with the Storm in 2008. Jason proved to be a strong addition to the Jackrabbit lineup in 2006, earning a spot in the starting lineup and being named a second-team all-Great West Football Conference selection after transferring from the junior college ranks. He played in all 11 games, finishing second on team with four sacks and 9 1/2 tackles for loss. He also led team with two fumble recoveries. He notched season-high seven tackles, including sack, in win over Central Arkansas. He was 4th in the Great West Football Conference in 2007 with 6.0 sacks.

Before SDSU, he earned third-team JC Grid-Wire All-America honors at Glendale Community College (Calif.) in 2005, after totaling 94 tackles, 14 sacks, 22 hurries, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and two blocked kicks. He was selected as team Most Valuable Player and was first-team all-California JC and first-team all-Western State Conference pick. His team finished regular season 8-2 and ranked first against run in conference, allowing just 91.4 yards per game. He enrolled at Glendale after serving in U.S. Marines Corps.
